2016 Victorian Open Championships

The Victorian Open Championships were held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre from the 22nd to the 24th of January. The meet was of a very high standard with many international and interstate swimmers competing. The Carlile swimming club was represented by 4 swimmers: Jessie Quinn, Emily Washer, Greg Phillips and Luke Bibby.

Many PBs were swum across the meet, with the Carlile team qualifying for multiple A & B finals and achieving qualifying times for the upcoming Olympic trials. On day 1 the Carlile team won silver in the Mixed 4×50 freestyle relay! Luke Bibby has claimed this was due to his ‘mint’ changeover, however it was a great team performance!

Well done to the team! We are now looking forward to the Carlile open training camp, NSW State Open and Olympic Trials!
